India Works Organisation is an NGO . Our focus is on education and skill development for women in Rural India. Our mission is to make every women self-sustaining , by providing them with the survival skills required to live independently in the present world. In order to achieve our goals we are providing free skills development classes for deserving women.
We also provide employment for the women who get trained in IWO . Some women become self-employed after our training programmes. IWO works towards the self-sustaining power of every women in rural india.
We start the course by teaching them to stitch their own clothes. Shirts, skirts, baby frocks, blouses ,nighties etc. They are also taught to make accessories like cloth pouches, hand bags, reading glass cases , doormat , placemats/napkins.
Recreating jewellery with beads, silk threads, mirrors & metal jewellery , the ladies are taught to make ear-rings, jimkis, necklaces, bangles, rings ,anklets & hair accessories.
The process of weaving baskets made of palm leaves are taught to the ladies. Some baskets have the natural look , while some are dyed with attractive colours and then weaved into the natural hue to make beautiful handmade products.
A certified teacher trains the ladies to speak the english language with confidence. They are taught to present themselves well at interviews & gatherings. Interactive sessions are encouraged.

Delicately hand-made crochet work is taught, and the women make crochet table mats/ placemats, coasters, coin purse. The hand-made crochet laces can be attached to towels, dupattas & dresses to enhance the beauty.
Hand-embroidery stitches such as mirror work,patch work,Kamal work etc are taught. The ladies are encouraged to decorate their sarees, blouses with beautiful embroidery & are they also learn to do the embroidery on pouches, pillow covers & bed covers.
Our team in IWO are all well qualified in their respective skills & are also blessed with a compassionate heart . The team truly believes in the concept of empowering women and are dedicated in the process of reaching out to rural women, inspiring them & helping them to be self-sufficient.
